Hello,

I'm Marilyn Giese.  I am a professional genealogist  who can help you with your family history.  Genealogy is one of the most rewarding pastimes I have ever had.  I started searching for my ancestors over forty years ago, as a young mother wanting to know more about myself and to gather information for my children.  The search has taken me to almost every state in the Union as well as to several foreign countries.  Now, I am a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, http://www.apgen.org, the Genealogical Speakers Guild, http://www.genealogicalspeakersguild.org and genealogical societies in several states as well as Canada and the United Kingdom.  I welcome you to this site, and hope that as you explore you will find a way that I can help you find your family's history and perhaps add some branches to your family tree.

What I Do

For the last decade I have taught classes in genealogy through  local Adult Education programs and genealogical societies..  The response to these classes has been overwhelmingly positive, and I was encouraged by students to provide a similar kind of help on the internet.  If you would like a a professional genealogist to give you some direction in your search, or to answer a genealogical question you might have, I am prepared to do that at no cost.

Or, if you cannot do the research yourself, I am prepared to do the research for you for a fee.  We will need to negotiate what you need to have done and I will give you an estimate of what that cost would be.  If I cannot help you, I will attempt to refer you to someone who can help. 

I am also available to speak to your genealogical society, DAR chapter, or ethnic heritage group on a wide variety of topics.  I live in Connecticut, but that does not preclude visits to other locations.

I also enjoy finding living folks.  So, if you have lost track of that old friend from junior high, or an old neighbor or long lost cousin, let me try - the cost is nominal and it is well worth the attempt to reconnect.
